We were approached by a young couple in the IT field to design the interior of their 97-square-meter apartment in the Malahit residential complex. The main goal was to create a minimalist interior with an executable price point for all materials and fixers. All furniture and equipment were sourced from local markets in Kyiv.
The apartment comprises a living room, kitchen, wardrobe, bathroom, bedroom, balcony, and a cabinet. Our focus was to create good and simple transit lines between all the rooms, making the space easy to navigate.
In the living room, we used wallpapers with individual art as decorative elements, warm wooden floors, and a light grey sofa placed next to the wall with a TV. All technical equipment is hidden in the console.
For the bathroom, we incorporated marble tiles, concrete stucco, and black stucco. We added LED lighting under the console and bathtub and shelves for shampoo and other toiletries on the wall with the bathtub.
The design of the cabinet was created for the IT couple who wanted minimal decorative elements and a black-and-white colour scheme. The cabinet features a big storage unit with white closet doors in the niche and a sofa placed next to the offset wall.
In the kitchen, we placed the kitchen in one line where we have communication connections. We used black and white colours in the furniture and wooden floors, a white flat ceiling, and concrete stucco as an accent near the dining table. We also hung MDF circle panels with shelves for plants on the concrete walls with LED lights.
The bedroom has a balcony, where we added a small comfortable sofa, light for reading, a small circle table made of wood and blue epoxy, closet shelves above the sofa, and LED lighting on the concrete ceiling. The makeup table stands near the window and has natural light, and there are two pendant cylinder lights for correct lighting for applying makeup.
The project took us three months, and it was an easy-going process as our vision matched the client’s preferences very well.
